Built with IGN elevation data

A 30m global DEM was never going to
get the Meseta and the Pyrenees equally wrong.

Most coverage tools default to the same 30m global elevation model everywhere. GridVisio pulls Spain's own IGN/CNIG surface model automatically instead — a real 5m elevation grid, six times finer than SRTM — across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, and falls back gracefully wherever it isn't available.

A real link check running on IGN-sourced terrain, not a generic global DEM

Why Spanish WISPs end up here

Not a US tool with a Spain checkbox bolted on afterward. The elevation pipeline, the plan limits, and the export options were built for how independent wireless operators actually plan links here.

Real IGN elevation, not SRTM

Instituto Geográfico Nacional's own Modelo Digital de Superficies — a genuine 5m surface model, buildings and vegetation included, not a bare-terrain approximation — is pulled in automatically across mainland Spain and the Balearics. Coverage over the Canary Islands exists in the same service but hasn't been independently confirmed yet, so treat results there as unverified until you check one yourself.

Real backhaul distances

10km link length on Starter, 20km on Pro — enough for a genuine hop across a sierra ridge or an open stretch of the Meseta, not just a last-mile drop. Fresnel clearance, bearing, and FSPL computed identically at any length.

Honest verdicts, not a confident guess

Clear, Borderline, or Obstructed — Borderline is flagged as inconclusive instead of rounded up either way. Whoever ends up reviewing the result — a partner, an investor, your own install crew — gets the same answer every time it's opened.

Predicted signal, not just geometry

ITU-R P.1812 propagation prediction alongside the Fresnel check, extending to ITM or FSPL+P.526 outside its frequency range — a dBm number and, with a CPE model selected, an estimated Mbps. The same engine drives the RF Heatmap so numbers never contradict each other.

Find where to build next

Import your own subscriber list and GridVisio clusters unserved locations by density (DBSCAN), then estimates reach from a hypothetical tower before you commit to a site visit — useful whether you're documenting a case for a partner or funding body, or simply deciding where the next mast goes.

Coverage widget for your own site

Embed an address-check widget on your website. A visitor's address gets a real LoS check against your nearest masts, not a polygon overlap — so the lead you receive already tells you which site would serve them.

The same 30m cell can't represent a sierra ridge and the plain beside it

A link crossing a fold of the Sierra de Guadarrama, a hop across an open stretch of the Meseta, a backhaul reaching between hills on Mallorca — a coarse 30m global elevation model quietly gets all three wrong in different ways. IGN's 5m surface model catches the ridge, the tree line, or the building a smoothed dataset erases, even where it can't match true 1m LiDAR precision.

Where IGN's coverage doesn't reach — or for the Canary Islands, where it's genuinely unconfirmed — GridVisio falls back to SRTM 30m automatically rather than refusing to run, and always states which source produced the result you're looking at.

One coverage map, every layer you actually maintain

Towers and sectors, subscribers, saved LoS links, unserved clusters — all on one map, toggleable by layer. Run an RF Heatmap per sector or per site and see predicted signal strength across your whole footprint, using the same propagation model as the link checker.

Export a clean PDF or PNG of any link check for a customer file, an internal record, or whatever documentation a partner or funding process needs — no extra formatting step, no per-file fee.

Frequently asked questions

Does GridVisio actually cover my part of Spain?
Confirmed and live-verified for mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands. The same IGN service's stated coverage extends further, plausibly including the Canary Islands, but that wasn't independently confirmed — treat Canary Islands results as unverified until you check a real link there yourself. Outside confirmed coverage, GridVisio falls back to SRTM 30m rather than refusing to run, and the result always states which source it used.
Is this the same 1m LiDAR precision as your Canada, UK, or New Zealand data?
No, and it's worth being direct about that: IGN's public service for Spain is a 5m surface model, not 1m. It's still a genuine surface model — buildings and vegetation included, not bare terrain — and six times finer than the 30m SRTM data most tools default to everywhere, but a ridge or rooftop narrower than 5m can still get smoothed over in a way it wouldn't with 1m data.
Can this help with a UNICO programme application or similar documentation?
GridVisio isn't a filing tool for UNICO or any specific subsidy scheme, and most of that programme's current funding lines target fibre and satellite rather than fixed wireless directly. What it does give you is exportable, defensible link and coverage data — terrain profile, Fresnel clearance, predicted signal strength — as a PDF or PNG you can attach to whatever documentation your own situation calls for.
Is pricing in euros?
Both — USD ($19/month Starter, $39/month Pro) and EUR are available, switchable from your billing page. Both plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required to start, and there's also a permanent $0 Free plan with core Starter features included.
Do I need to import my own subscriber and tower data?
Yes — towers, sectors, and subscribers are imported via CSV/XLSX or entered directly on the map. Once they're in, white area detection, reach estimates, and the RF Heatmap all run against your real network, not a sample dataset.
